AUG A3/M1 90 Degree Offset Receiver Rail Segment (A-1011) Install Instructions/Notes
-IMPORTANT: If you’re mounting any type of IR/laser unit to this rail, mount the unit as close as possible to the receiver screws to reduce any flex and to retain zero. Mounting an IR unit/laser on the furthest forward position may result in vibration/flex in the aluminum. The furthest forward slots (9-12) are recommended for white lights only as flexion is normal.
-Using a light offset mount or rail extension + white light increases the risk of rail flex. This is normal, but to be noted.
-Mounting a light on the furthest forward positions (segments 10-12) increases vibrations to the light assembly- make sure your light is tightened down properly and add thread locker if needed. Pressure switches may wiggle loose under firing as well - we recommend mounting these closer to the mounting screws on the receiver for less vibration.
-It is always recommended that a professional gunsmith performs any type of modification to a firearm.
-*PLEASE Make sure your AUG is clear of any ammunition and disassembled/field stripped properly before installation*
-All rails are test fitted prior to shipping, so if yours exhibits some wear on the mounting holes, this is normal.
-
Remove factory rail using a T30 Torx bit. The factory screws typically can be loosened and removed by hand and shouldn’t require any power tools. Just some elbow grease.
-
Using the provided (4MM Hex) or reusing the factory screws, install the 90 degree offset rail into the factory holes in the upper receiver.
-
Hand tighten each screw until snug or 35 inch pounds of torque if you have a torque wrench. Do not over tighten as this could damage the mounting holes & receiver. Thread locker is not necessary but a small amount can be applied if you feel the need!
